From Good Shepherd Hospice's President

We want to welcome you to Good Shepherd Hospice. One of the first hospices on Long Island, Good Shepherd has been providing care to the residents of Nassau and Suffolk Counties for over 30 years. Mercy Hospice, Good Samaritan Hospice, and St. Charles Hospice came together in 2001 to form Good Shepherd Hospice. As a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, our mission includes the values of excellence, integrity, justice and compassion for all we serve.

As a hospice, we focus on

  • Meeting your expectations and desires while being surrounded by those you love in the comfort of the place you call home.
  • Assuring you and your loved ones receive the skills and support needed to live a life that allows for quality, comfort, and meaningful time with each other.
  • Managing pain and other difficult symptoms. Our medical staff will work closely with your doctor to provide a level of comfort you desire to allow you to focus on what is most important to you and your loved ones.
  • We will assist and encourage participation in activities that are important to you and your family.

Good Shepherd Hospice is a team of caregivers, including our doctors, nurses, social workers, hospice aides, chaplains, and volunteers. This team comes together to meet your individual needs, and the needs of your loved ones. We encourage you to learn more about our team of special caregivers and the care they can provide to you.

I am very proud of our committed and highly skilled staff, and thank you again for learning about the services of Good Shepherd Hospice. I welcome your calls and questions, and value the privilege of providing care to you and your loved ones.
