Volunteers & What They Do to Help
Volunteer with Good Shepherd Hospice
Many people are so touched by the comfort and care offered to them during their time of need by hospice that they choose the path of volunteer in order to give back. Good Shepherd Hospice has many irreplaceable volunteers with their own stories:
Robert K.’s grandmother was on hospice when he was a teenager. Robert shared that he remembers volunteers visiting with his grandmother and grandfather. This gift of self allowed for his parents to go out to dinner or to a movie. Robert wanted to be able to do that for others. He wanted to pay it forward.
Dolores C. was caregiver to her husband while he was on hospice. She recalls how grateful she was for the support and guidance she received from the hospice team. After his death, Dolores felt she needed to give back.
